- About the project
- The Safway New York branch worked closely with our Scotia, N.Y.-based Bridge Division to supply 1,000 sq. ft. of the QuikDeck™ Suspended Access system for contractor National Grid. The fixed height platform was suspended inside the Northport Unit #1 boiler to act as a deck to facilitate pendent replacement.
- Decking was suspended from cables and hung from existing steel located above the penthouse. This type of application further proves the versatility of QuikDeck™. Even though traditional scaffold can also be used within a boiler, the efficiency of QuikDeck™ enables the project to progress through suspended platforms instead of a standing structure.
